Big Island Roads Less Traveled

On our way back to Hilo from Waimea this weekend, we took a short detour down a side road and drove the old highway through Ahualoa.

My camera was packed away, so these are quick snapshots taken with my phone.  One day soon, I’ll write a little more about this part of the island, but, for now, here’s a peek at what is to come…

As we drove back into Hilo on Friday, we made last-minute dinner plans with a friend who lives near Honolii Beach Park.   We stopped for this photo on the way over:


Dinner with Diana

Mahalo to Diana Evans, also an agent at Clark Realty-Hilo, for a lovely evening.  Sometimes spontaneous “plans” are the best kind!  I took this photo just a few minutes after we arrived…and just before a wonderful evening of good food and good conversation:
